Charity Auction Glass Artwork Display

Melissa and her fused glass art at charity auction: ” Art in the Dark” – sponsored by non-profit The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind, June 18, 2015. Melissa donated a dichroic fused art glass necklace to the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind, and her diamond-shaped fused glass jewelry pendant was displayed at a table with other San Antonio Glass Art Guild warm glass artists.

Auction bidders place their bids after they examine the art with their hands only. The art is under a cloth and not able to be seen. The objective is to put the experience on a parallel to what it would be like for the blind to bid on art by touch only. Verbal descriptions and color information are permitted.

Also on display are Melissa’s fused glass underwater scene “Yellow Tang” and “Texas Hill Country Sunset” landscape.
